Structurally similar — multiple eco-organisms per stream, producer-pays model, annual declarations. Operationally different — France runs more streams (10+ vs Spain’s 7-8), the eco-modulation grid is different, and the SYDEREP registry is public (Ecoembes is more opaque). We handle the operational specifics; the underlying principles your team already understands transfer.
Spain implemented Real Decreto 1055/2022 for packaging in 2023. Does French EPR have an equivalent recent regulation?
France passed the AGEC law (Loi 2020-105) in February 2020, which consolidated and expanded the existing EPR framework. The 2023 milestone in France was the EcoDDS Conseil d’État ruling (10 November 2023) clarifying the civil mandate doctrine. France and Spain are both implementing PPWR Article 45 from 12 August 2026 — same EU date, same EU-wide requirement.
Our Spanish clients ship D2C to France via Correos Express, GLS, SEUR. Does carrier choice affect French EPR?
No. The trigger is placing the product on the French market — i.e., delivery to a French address — regardless of carrier. Whether the order ships via Correos, GLS, DHL or Amazon FBA, French EPR applies. The carrier is irrelevant to scope, though some carriers (Amazon FBA in particular) enforce verification by checking SYDEREP.
Can we use a single Spanish-French EPR proposal for clients exploring both markets?
Yes via the co-branded model. Joint proposal with Spanish + French scope, co-signed, one invoice (you mark up) or two invoices (you keep Spain, we invoice France). For enterprise pursuits where the brand wants a single accountable EU partner, this is the strongest pitch architecture.
