Refashion is the sole approved eco-organism for Textile, Household linen, and Footwear (TLC) in France, covering all apparel, home textiles, and shoes placed on the French market.
Refashion collects an eco-contribution per garment, per pair of shoes, per kilogram of household linen placed on the market. The funds finance second-hand sorting, fiber recycling, and consumer awareness campaigns. France was first in Europe to introduce textile EPR, in 2007.

What we do for the Refashion stream specifically.
You remain the producer. Under the written mandate required by Article L. 541-10-9-1 of the French Environmental Code, we take charge of and answer for your registration, your identifier, your declarations, the exchanges with the eco-organisation and audits, and the archiving of your files. Your eco-contributions stay invoiced to you and paid by you directly to the eco-organisation. You sign the Refashion membership; we act as your declaring facilitator under your power of attorney, and Refashion invoices you directly. Refashion issues the identifier after membership, the signed contract and your first declaration and payment, then about ten business days. Registration is due from your first sale in France, and eco-organisations can claim contributions for earlier years: up to five years at Refashion (the current year and four previous ones), three at Ecomaison, Ecosystem and Valobat, one at Citeo, none at Léko. Identifiers are never backdated. We tell you before signing whether earlier years are at stake.

- Who has to join Refashion?
- Any producer placing products covered by Textile, household linen and footwear (TLC) on the French market, whatever the country it is established in, with no minimum volume. The producer is the first company placing the goods on that market: for a distance sale to a French consumer, that is the seller, not the carrier and not the marketplace.
- Can I join Refashion without a French company?
- Not directly. A producer with no establishment in France must appoint a representative established in France, compulsory since 10 July 2026 under Article L. 541-10-9-1 of the French Environmental Code. You sign the Refashion membership; we act as your declaring facilitator under your power of attorney, and Refashion invoices you directly. Refashion issues it after membership, the signed contract and your first declaration and payment, then about ten business days.
- What does Refashion membership cost?
- Two separate amounts. The membership fee runs from EUR 0 to 450 a year depending on the stream. The eco-contribution depends on what you place on the market and follows Refashion's published schedule. Your eco-contributions stay invoiced to you and paid by you directly to the eco-organisation. We take no percentage and no margin on either of them.
- When do I declare to Refashion, and for which years?
- Refashion can claim contributions for up to five years (the current year and four previous ones). Identifiers are never backdated.
