Ecomaison is the multi-stream French eco-organism for furniture (DEA), toys, DIY tools and garden equipment, and part of the construction products stream. It does not cover sports goods, which go to Ecologic.
Ecomaison takes back end-of-life household items through dedicated collection points and partnerships with retailers and waste centres. Producers pay a contribution scaled by the type and weight of items put on the market.

What we do for the Ecomaison stream specifically.
You remain the producer. Under the written mandate required by Article L. 541-10-9-1 of the French Environmental Code, we take charge of and answer for your registration, your identifier, your declarations, the exchanges with the eco-organisation and audits, and the archiving of your files. Your eco-contributions stay invoiced to you and paid by you directly to the eco-organisation. We sign the Ecomaison membership for furniture, toys and DIY and garden articles. Ecomaison charges a EUR 50 membership fee per stream, payable within five business days of signing, and declares quarterly by default (annual on option below 15 t, 1,000 pieces and EUR 2 million of turnover in the stream). - Who has to join Ecomaison?
- Any producer placing products covered by Furniture (DEA), Toys, Sports, DIY and garden articles and Construction products and materials (PMCB) on the French market, whatever the country it is established in, with no minimum volume. The producer is the first company placing the goods on that market: for a distance sale to a French consumer, that is the seller, not the carrier and not the marketplace.
- Can I join Ecomaison without a French company?
- Not directly. A producer with no establishment in France must appoint a representative established in France, compulsory since 10 July 2026 under Article L. 541-10-9-1 of the French Environmental Code. The representative signs the membership in the producer's name.
- What does Ecomaison membership cost?
- Two separate amounts. The membership fee runs from EUR 0 to 450 a year depending on the stream. The eco-contribution depends on what you place on the market and follows Ecomaison's published schedule. Your eco-contributions stay invoiced to you and paid by you directly to the eco-organisation. We take no percentage and no margin on either of them.
- Is Ecomaison the only option?
- No. On Furniture (DEA), Toys, Sports, DIY and garden articles and Construction products and materials (PMCB), Ecologic, Valdelia, Valobat and Ecominéro are also state-accredited. Joining any one of them satisfies the obligation, and the choice belongs to the producer. They differ on their published schedule, their declaration format and their eco-modulations, not on the legal cover they provide.
- When do I declare to Ecomaison, and for which years?
- Ecomaison declares quarterly by default (annual on option below 15 t, 1,000 pieces and EUR 2 million of turnover in the stream). Ecomaison can claim contributions for earlier years: up to three years. Identifiers are never backdated.
