Most guides to French EPR treat the annual declaration as a single date: 28 February. That is convenient and wrong. The declaration is the filing in which a producer reports the volumes it placed on the French market last year, and on which each eco-organism computes the eco-contribution. There are around 28 accredited eco-organisms across the 19 French REP streams, and they do not share one calendar. Some close at the end of February, some at the end of March, one runs into late May, several declare quarterly or monthly, and the newest stream has no 2025 declaration at all.
This article is the 2026 filing calendar, eco-organism by eco-organism, for volumes placed on the market in 2025. It is the companion to our annual declaration process guide (which covers how a declaration works) and to the visual 2026 deadlines timeline. Here the focus is narrow: when is each one due, which dates are firm, which you must confirm on the portal, and what a missed one costs.
Two deadlines people confuse
Before the calendar, two distinctions that cause most of the wrong dates in circulation.
The declaration is not the payment. You declare your volumes first; the eco-organism then invoices the eco-contribution, usually weeks later. Refashion, for example, closes its declaration on 28 February 2026 but sets payment at 31 March 2026. Citeo closes its declaration at the end of February and invoices toward the end of April. When someone gives you one date, ask whether it is the declaration or the payment.
The declaration to the eco-organism is not the SYDEREP declaration to ADEME. Two layers exist. You (or your representative) declare placed-on-market volumes to each eco-organism you belong to. Separately, the eco-organism files an aggregated annual report of its members' data into ADEME's national SYDEREP register, anchored by the arrêté of 12 December 2022 at end of Q1 to 30 April. That 31 March or 30 April figure is the eco-organism's regulatory filing, generally handled for you, not your own declaration deadline. A lot of the "the French deadline is 31 March" advice online is quoting the SYDEREP anchor, not what you actually have to do.
The national rhythm
With those distinctions in place, the shape of the year is consistent even though the exact dates are not:
- January: declaration windows open across most streams. Data preparation should already be done.
- Late January to end of March: the bulk of annual declarations close. The household streams cluster at the end of February; the furniture, construction and several other streams sit at the end of March or later.
- March to May: eco-contribution invoices issue.
- Throughout the year: quarterly or monthly filers (Soren, Ecominéro, and the large-producer regimes at several eco-organisms) declare on a rolling basis.
Now the detail.

The 2026 declaration calendar, stream by stream
Dates below are for 2025 volumes, read from each eco-organism's official pages in July 2026. Firm means published in the eco-organism's own declaration guide, FAQ or calendar. Confirm on portal means the eco-organism does not publish a fixed public date and you should read it in your member space, because it can shift year to year. In all cases the eco-organism's own current calendar prevails over any third-party summary, including this one.
| Stream (filière) | Eco-organism(s) | Frequency | 2026 declaration window / deadline (for 2025) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Household packaging + graphic paper | Citeo, Adelphe | Annual (large producers also file a provisional estimate) | 1 January to 28 February 2026; eco-contribution payment by 30 April. Firm |
| Household packaging + graphic paper | Léko | Annual (detailed declaration mandatory above 500,000 UVC) | Early 2026, ahead of the invoice issued no later than 31 March; confirm the window on MyLéko |

| Tyres | France Recyclage Pneumatiques, Tyval | Annual | Portal deadline not separately published (SYDEREP anchor 31 March); confirm |
| Lubricants | Cyclevia | Quarterly plus annual | Dates not published (LUBREC platform); confirm |
| Medical sharps (DASRI) | DASTRI | Annual | Deadline not published; confirm in the member space |
| Unused medicines | Cyclamed | Annual | Deadline not published; confirm |

If your catalogue triggers several streams (a boxed electrical product is packaging plus WEEE, often plus batteries), you are not managing one deadline, you are managing three or four on different dates between January and May.
The special cases worth flagging
Professional packaging (EPRO) has no 2025 declaration. The stream was created by décret n° 2025-1081 and is genuinely new, so there is nothing to declare for 2025. Producers file a provisional declaration on estimates when they join, and the first real declaration lands in January to February 2027 for second-half-2026 volumes. Note that the start of EPRO eco-contributions, initially expected in mid-2026, was postponed in late June 2026 (a new date is expected around 1 October 2026 or 1 January 2027), so treat the launch timing as unsettled. Details in our professional packaging EPR guide.
Wipes (TSUU) run on an offset cycle. Because the single-use wipes stream started on 1 July 2025, the declaration for 2025 volumes opens on 1 July 2026, not in the first quarter. It is mandatory even for small volumes.
Some eco-organisms do not do an annual date at all. Soren (photovoltaic panels) declares in four ten-day quarterly windows. Ecominéro (inert construction materials) is monthly by default. Ecologic runs semi-annual campaigns and emails each deadline. For these, there is no single 2026 date to circle; there is a rhythm to keep.
Multi-stream eco-organisms carry one calendar across their streams. If you declare furniture, toys and a DIY range through Ecomaison, that is one 31 March window, not three. Valobat covers construction, furniture and sports/DIY on its 1 March to 31 May campaign. This is a quiet argument for consolidating streams under one representative and one cadence.
What a missed declaration actually triggers
The escalation is predictable, and the order matters because the expensive part is not the fine:
- Reminder from the eco-organism, typically within two weeks of its deadline.
- Formal notice if the declaration is still missing.
- IDU suspension on SYDEREP.
- IDU revocation if there is no remediation.
- Back-payment of eco-contributions plus late penalties, and possible ADEME referral.
The operational consequence arrives between steps 3 and 4: once SYDEREP shows your IDU as suspended, marketplace verifications fail and listings deactivate within days, because Amazon France, ManoMano, Cdiscount, Fnac and TikTok Shop France all check the register. The administrative sanction sits behind that under Article L. 541-9-5 (up to 7,500 euros per unit or per tonne for a legal entity, with a 30,000 euro ceiling for a registry or IDU failure, following the mise en demeure procedure of Article L. 541-9-6), but for most sellers the lost sales are the larger cost. We cover the enforcement mechanics in EPR France penalties: the real risks of no IDU.
Year 1 and the data you need
Two first-year points. Your first declaration is a partial-year one, covering registration date to 31 December, so a producer whose IDU went live in October 2025 declares October to December 2025 in the 2026 windows. And first-year producers rarely have perfect volume tracking; reasonable estimates are acceptable and correctable later, whereas a non-declaration is not. The data itself is units by SKU plus packaging composition (or aggregate tonnage by material); our guide on calculating French eco-contributions shows how those figures become a contribution.
A note on the dates
Declaration calendars are republished every year, and a few of the dates above (the ones marked confirm on portal, plus the borderline annual dates such as Aliapur and Valobat) should be checked directly in the eco-organism's member space before you rely on them, because the eco-organism's own current calendar is the only authoritative source. That verification, across every stream you belong to, is precisely the recurring work an authorized representative absorbs. We keep a per-client deadline map and file each declaration in its own window.
Your next step
If you place products on the French market without a French establishment, you should not be tracking eight eco-organism portals yourself. We hold the calendar, prepare the declarations in January, and file each one before its own deadline, included in our published volume-tier pricing per stream (see the pricing page). Scope your streams in three minutes with the application wizard, see the year at a glance on the deadlines timeline, or check the eco-contribution barèmes hub.
Frequently asked questions
Is the declaration deadline always 28 February? No. It is firm at 28 February 2026 for Citeo and Adelphe (packaging and graphic paper), Refashion (textile) and Batribox (portable batteries), but Ecomaison and Valdelia close at 31 March, Valobat runs to 31 May, EcoDDS closes 1 March, Aliapur 31 January, and Soren and Ecominéro are quarterly or monthly. Declaring is annual for most streams and clustered late in Q1, but the date is per eco-organism.
Is the eco-organism declaration the same as the ADEME SYDEREP declaration? No. You declare your volumes to each eco-organism (that computes your contribution); the eco-organism files an aggregated report to SYDEREP around 31 March to 30 April (usually for you). The two are different filings with different dates.
What if I miss the deadline? Reminder, then formal notice, then IDU suspension and possible revocation, then back-payment with penalties. In practice marketplace listings deactivate within days of an IDU suspension, which is the consequence most sellers feel first.
Do I declare in Year 1 if I registered mid-year? Yes, a partial-year declaration from your registration date to 31 December, filed in each eco-organism's 2026 window.
Can one representative handle all my declarations? Yes, and it is the main reason to use one. A multi-stream producer faces several staggered deadlines between January and May; a single representative holds the whole calendar and files each declaration on time.
