Thirteen documents, electronic signature only, no notary, no paper, and never an identity document. This page lists each document and what a company register extract is called in your jurisdiction (US, UK, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Australia, Canada, Switzerland).
Which documents do you need?
- Exact company name, legal form and registered address
- Registration number and tax identifier in your country, EU VAT number if you have one
- Company register extract less than three months old
- Name and position of the signatory, who must appear on the extract, otherwise a written delegation
- Full product scope, by reference or by product family
- Volumes per stream in the stream’s unit, and volumes of the three previous years if you already sell
- Date of your first sale in France
- Sales channels and customers, households or professionals
- Who imports and who owns the goods when they enter France
- Identifiers and memberships you already hold, with access or certificate
- Billing details and operational contact, with phone number
- Written acceptance of the deposit amount
- Bank details on a document issued by your bank
Never an identity document. These are the same documents as a membership without a representative.
What counts as a company register extract?
Item 3 is the official extract of your company register, issued less than three months ago. Its local name: US: Certificate of Good Standing; UK: Companies House certificate; China: 营业执照 (Business Licence); Hong Kong: Business Registration certificate; Singapore: ACRA Bizfile; Japan: 履歴事項全部証明書; Korea: 사업자등록증; Australia: ASIC certificate; Canada: Articles of Incorporation; Switzerland: extrait du registre du commerce. An English translation is enough in most cases.

The six-step path
- Step 1, Send your scope. Via our wizard at /get-registered. Company, product scope, sales channels, volumes per stream, current situation (suspended, warning, starting, switching).
- Step 2, Receive scope confirmation and quote within one business day. We confirm the EPR streams that apply to your catalog and the per-stream fee: a fixed annual amount from €190/year excl. - Step 3, Send the documents. The 13 items listed above, through a secure upload. Never an identity document.
- Step 4, Sign the written mandate electronically. A written mandate under Article L. 541-10-9-1 of the French Environmental Code, signed with an eIDAS-compliant electronic signature. No notary, no paper.
- Step 5, We file the eco-organism memberships. We file your membership within two business days of receiving the signed mandate, the first invoice payment and the deposit, in parallel for every stream in scope.
- Step 6, Your IDU is issued. It depends on the eco-organisation. Citeo issues the identifier about seven business days after the membership is validated. Léko issues it about five business days after its initial invoice is paid; that invoice must be paid within five business days, otherwise the membership is cancelled. Refashion issues it after membership, the signed contract and your first declaration and payment, then about ten business days. Ecosystem issues it after your first declaration has been filed and paid. Professional packaging (EPRO): registration is open now, eco-contributions from 1 January 2027.
Special situations
Three scenarios where the document requirements deviate slightly from the standard checklist:

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a certified translation of my US Certificate of Good Standing?
Usually no. Eco-organisms accept business registration certificates in their original language plus an English translation. The English translation does not need to be certified or notarised in most cases, we handle the translation as part of the dossier preparation. If a specific eco-organism asks for a certified translation in a particular case, we coordinate with a sworn translator.
My Chinese business licence (营业执照) is in Chinese. What do I need?
The original 营业执照 plus an English translation. We work with Chinese exporters regularly and have a streamlined translation workflow. The translation must accurately render the legal name, business scope, registration number, and registration date, these are the data points eco-organisms compare against the dossier.
I do not have a packaging composition breakdown per SKU. Is that a blocker?
Not at registration. Registration needs your full product scope, by reference or by product family, and your volumes per stream in the stream’s unit. The detailed packaging composition per SKU is needed for the declarations: most streams are declared once a year, some quarterly or monthly, and you have until the first filing date to build that data.
Do I sign the mandate digitally or on paper?
Digital. The mandate is signed electronically (eIDAS-compliant), typically via a one-click signature platform like Yousign or DocuSign. No notary, no paper. The same-day signature is standard practice.
How long does the document collection phase take?
For organised sellers with a recent register extract ready: a few hours of work, total. For sellers needing to retrieve a Certificate of Good Standing (US) or a refreshed Chinese 营业执照: a few business days. We can prepare the mandate in parallel while you retrieve any missing certificate.
