A France-established representative is now compulsory for medical sharps.
Article L. 541-10-9-1 of the French Environment Code, created by law n° 2026-602 of 8 July 2026, requires any person subject to French EPR without an establishment in France to appoint a representative established in France by written mandate, and subrogates that representative into the obligations for which it accepts the mandate. The rule is horizontal: it applies to medical sharps exactly as it applies to the other French streams, and it does not depend on the PPWR.
The test is establishment in France, not nationality, so a producer based elsewhere in the European Union is covered on the same terms as one based outside it. Within the scope and duration of the mandate we carry the medical sharps obligations; you keep producer status, answer for the accuracy of the data you give us, and remain responsible for any period before the mandate took effect. A fixed annual fee, stated in writing before you commit.

The quote states the fixed annual fee for medical sharps, the one-time setup for the stream and the refundable security deposit. For the twelve months it covers, the number you sign is the number you pay.
DASTRI set your eco-contributions at their published barème rates. They stay separate from our fee and we take no percentage on them: we prepare and file the declarations that drive them, and help you optimise them.

How this stream works in France.
The DISP-MED stream covers perforating self-care medical devices (DASRI perforants) used by patients treating themselves at home: insulin pen needles, lancets, syringes and similar sharps. DASTRI is the sole approved eco-organism, operating the pharmacy take-back network for used sharps containers. Cahier des charges: arrêté of 2 November 2022. Producers of self-care devices and the associated medications are in scope.
