APER authorized representative
for non-EU sellers in France.
APER is the approved French eco-organism for end-of-life pleasure and sport boats (bateaux de plaisance ou de sport, BPS). Its agrément follows the arrêté of 6 December 2023, and it organises the dismantling and recycling of retired boats.
APER manages the collection, deconstruction and recycling of end-of-life recreational boats through a network of approved dismantling centres, at no direct cost to the last owner. Producers adhere, declare the boats they place on the French market, and pay an eco-contribution funding the scheme.
Any company placing pleasure or sport boats on the French market, whether established in France, elsewhere in the EU, or outside the EU: boat builders, importers and brand owners of sailing and motor craft. The trigger is the first placement on the French market, not the seller location.
- A US boat builder selling recreational craft to French dealers
- An EU boat manufacturer without a French establishment supplying the French market
- A UK marine brand exporting small sailing boats to France
