Any producer placing products covered by End-of-life vehicles (VHU) on the French market, whatever the country it is established in, with no minimum volume. The producer is the first company placing the goods on that market: for a distance sale to a French consumer, that is the seller, not the carrier and not the marketplace.

Can I join Recycler Mon Véhicule without a French company?

Not directly. A producer with no establishment in France goes through a France-established mandataire, compulsory since 10 July 2026 under Article L. 541-10-9-1 of the Code de l'environnement. The representative signs the membership in the producer's name, then ADEME publishes the IDU within 2 to 3 weeks.

What does Recycler Mon Véhicule membership cost?

Two separate amounts. The membership fee runs from EUR 0 to 450 a year depending on the stream. The eco-contribution depends on what you place on the market and follows Recycler Mon Véhicule's published schedule. We take no percentage and no margin on either of them.

What do I declare once I have joined?

The volumes you placed on the market the previous year, in the unit that stream uses, on Recycler Mon Véhicule's own calendar. That declaration sets the eco-contribution you owe. A producer joining late regularises the earlier years in which it placed products on the market.

What Recycler Mon Véhicule does, fig. 02

The scheme ensures end-of-life vehicles are handled by authorised dismantlers and shredders, with depollution, reuse of parts and material recycling. Producers adhere, declare the vehicles they place on the French market, and pay an eco-contribution funding the take-back network.

Any company placing motor vehicles in scope of the VHU stream on the French market, whether established in France, elsewhere in the EU, or outside the EU: car makers, importers and brand owners of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. The trigger is the first placement on the French market, not the seller location.
