Alcome

Alcome funds and supports local authorities in reducing and cleaning up cigarette-butt litter: street ashtrays, awareness campaigns and cleaning support across French municipalities. Producers adhere, declare the filtered tobacco products they place on the French market, and pay an eco-contribution funding these actions.

Any company placing filtered tobacco products on the French market, whether established in France, elsewhere in the EU, or outside the EU: manufacturers and importers of cigarettes and comparable products with plastic-containing filters. The trigger is the first placement on the French market, not the seller location.

We act as your French authorized representative under Article 8a §5 of Directive 2008/98/EC for the tobacco stream. We sign the Alcome adherence on your behalf, obtain your IDU through ADEME SYDEREP, file the declarations; the eco-contribution itself is set by the eco-organism on its published schedule, and we take no percentage on it. Producer status stays with you; the obligations covered by the mandate are carried by us.
