Cyclamed organises the return of leftover household medicines to pharmacies, which pass them on for secure destruction with energy recovery, keeping medicines out of household bins and the water cycle. Producers of medicines adhere, declare the volumes they place on the French market, and pay an eco-contribution funding the scheme.

Any company placing human medicines on the French market, whether established in France, elsewhere in the EU, or outside the EU. Pharmaceutical laboratories, generics producers and importers of medicinal products are in scope. The trigger is the first placement on the French market, not the seller location.

We act as your French authorized representative under Article 8a §5 of Directive 2008/98/EC for the medicines (MNU) stream. We sign the Cyclamed adherence on your behalf, obtain your IDU through ADEME SYDEREP, file the declarations; the eco-contribution itself is set by the eco-organism on its published schedule, and we take no percentage on it. Producer status stays with you; the obligations covered by the mandate are carried by us.
