Ecopae

Ecopae sets up collection and processing for used portable fire extinguishers, whose pressurised bodies and extinguishing agents require specialised handling. Producers adhere, declare the extinguishers they place on the French market, and pay an eco-contribution funding the recovery scheme.

Any company placing portable fire extinguishers on the French market, whether established in France, elsewhere in the EU, or outside the EU. Manufacturers, importers and brand owners are all in scope. The trigger is the first placement on the French market, not the seller location.

We act as your French authorized representative under Article 8a §5 of Directive 2008/98/EC for the fire-extinguisher stream. We sign the Ecopae adherence on your behalf, obtain your IDU through ADEME SYDEREP, file the declarations; the eco-contribution itself is set by the eco-organism on its published schedule, and we take no percentage on it. Producer status stays with you; the obligations covered by the mandate are carried by us.
